Swole Ninja Community Steroid Dealers Nateesha Barlin and Dylan Shaw Face Angry Judge

Swole Ninja Community Steroid Dealers Face Angry Judge | steroid.com

Dylan Shaw will likely stay in jail while his girlfriend Nateesha Barlin remains free.

Nateesha Barlin and Dylan Shaw, the bodybuilding couple who used the Facebook page “Swole Ninja Community” to sell anabolic steroids, were scheduled to be sentenced at Gosford District Court on December 13, 2018. But prosecutors asked the judge to re-open the case after Shaw was caught selling steroids again last summer.

Shaw was arrested by NSW Police in July 2018. The police busted Shaw after watching him complete a drug deal in the parking lot of a Belmore restaurant. Shaw had $179,000 on his person. Investigators also discovered crystal methamphetamine (“ice”), raw steroid powder, oral steroid pills, drug paraphernalia and another $27,400 cash during a search of his home.

Shaw was charged with conspiracy to supply drugs and goods. Two of his alleged associates were also arrested on the same night. Shaw has been remanded to custody ever since his summer arrest. His bail was officially revoked this month.

Barlin does not appear to have been involved in Shaw’s latest drug dealing escapade. However, prosecutors pushed the sentencing date to next year so that investigators could be certain Barlin did not have any involvement.

Both Barlin and Shaw were once considered likely candidates for a new type of sentencing option called the Intensive Correction Order (ICO). The bodybuilding couple would have avoided prison and served an alternative punishment. They would have been free to live in work in the community under strict supervision, drug testing and extensive monitoring.

The ICO would already have been an extremely lenient sentencing option. After all, Barlin and Shaw allegedly sold large quantities of anabolic steroids and human growth hormone via the “Swole Ninja Community” Facebook page. The illicit steroid dealing business was shut down in October 2016 following a two-year sting operation by the Australian Border Force.

In relation to the Swole Ninja Community steroid business, Barlin and Shaw pleaded guilty to multiple counts including unlawfully importing prohibited anabolic steroids, human growth hormone and the deemed supply of steroids in May 2018.

Judge Michael Bozic was inclined to grant them both ICOs during their first scheduled sentencing hearing in July 2018. But then Shaw got in trouble again and the sentencing hearing was postponed.

Barlin still has a good chance of receiving an ICO sentence when she appears at the new sentencing hearing scheduled for April 26, 2019. However, the chances don’t look so good for Shaw.
