In the world of illegal drugs the drug dealer is king and in many instances he is an individual who you would not want to cross paths with on any day in any way. Its no secret, the various drug dealers are often some of the most harden individuals to have ever existed in society and necessarily so as their survival depends on it. What about those who are steroid dealers, do they fall into the same camp? As you understand the majority of steroid users are nothing like your typical recreational drug user; in-fact, the majority of steroid users do not touch recreational drugs, they are employed and often upstanding citizens in the community with a secret they are forced to keep hidden. They work with you; they're your neighbors, your fellow church goers and friends. What then of the steroid suppliers; do they exist in a similar world or is there no difference between steroid suppliers and traditional drug lords? Oh, there's a difference, if there wasn't there would be nothing to talk about here and it is this difference that has allowed the many steroid suppliers to survive for so long and why they will continue to survive.
There's no question about it, some recreational drug dealers sell steroids too but the big steroid suppliers, the ones who have existed for years and often decades deal strictly in anabolic steroids and performance enhancing drugs. As the steroid suppliers understand their customers they too often live in a similar world; often upstanding citizens in the community with a secret they are forced to keep. They live in the shadows and avoid at all cost anything that would shine an unwelcome light on them. They do not deal in hard drugs, you will not find them in shoot outs in a back alley; they're your neighbors, your fellow church goers and friends; that's right, many of the steroid suppliers are no different than the many steroid users.
This is one of the main reasons the war on steroids has been unsuccessful; while the opposing side has won some battles the overall war is not going well for the anti-steroid camp. The reason is simple; law enforcement which is held in-line by the existing legislation refuses to recognize anabolic androgenic steroids for what they are and because of that they cannot recognize the users or the steroid suppliers for what they are. Look at it like hunting and fishing, both have a similar sporting way about them but both are very different. Lets say you've had excellent success catching fish but now you want to deer hunt; would you climb up in a tree with a fishing pole and dangle a lure to the ground in hopes of catching a deer? Of course not but this is the approach law enforcement often takes in the war on steroids and because of this the big steroid suppliers continue to thrive and they always will.
Will law enforcement ever change, will the legislation that guides them ever evolve to a more efficient means? It is highly unlikely, for if it were to change many truths regarding anabolic androgenic steroids would have to come into the public light and that would not be pretty. The anti-steroid camp exist with a firm belief and standing on anabolic steroids being akin to cocaine and meth and if they let go of that, if the truth of what these hormones really are were ever made known it would be a death blow to the war on steroids. Sure, certain steroid suppliers do get caught and more will; recall our deer hunting example with the fishing lure, well if you hang enough lures out there eventually you're bound to hook something; that doesn't make it efficient.
The reality is very simple; there are steroid suppliers that have existed for twenty years, even thirty years and longer and in many cases they haven't been busted yet and guess what, some of them are based right here in the United States. These suppliers are very careful in who deal with; they remain low profile and in many cases keep close relationships with their customers. They protect one another and that is something you will not find in any true drug circle and it is something law enforcement and the congress of the United States cannot understand. As said some do fall and often many steroid users go with them; when a big tree falls it often knocks over several smaller ones and it can be one of the saddest things in the world to see families and friends lives ruined, people with no criminal records, people who have never raised a hand to anyone have their lives completely shattered all because they supplement with hormones for their own personal well-being.
Lets be very clear, this has not been to say there are no horrible people in this game; absolutely, there are steroid suppliers who belong underneath the jail but that is the case with all things in life; there are evil people who work at the grocery store, at your accounting firm, who go to your church and schools. Evil people are everywhere but all steroid suppliers are not evil any more than all lawyers, doctors, pilots or gas station attendants and that is the one thing that has kept them alive and well for so long.
