Steroids seized from physiotherapist's house

HYDERABAD: The Government on Thursday registered a case against a physiotherapist Prashanth, 29, of Barkatpura on charge of selling steroids without permission, it is learnt.

Sources said the Hyderabad police Task Force (west) team, Food Inspectors of MCH and Institute of Preventive Medicine and Drug Inspectors, raided Prashanth's residence at Boggulakunta and seized steroids and nutrition pills worth Rs. 63,000.

Prashanth secured a degree in physiotherapy from a college in Mangalore. He is running a vocational para-medical and physiotherapy college in the city. He was reportedly associated with Telangana Body Building Association and allegedly selling steroids.

"Neither he is authorised nor does he have trade licence to sell the steroids. Hence, a case was registered," a police officer said.
