Man arrested for smuggling steroids

A man in his thirties was arrested in Reykjavík on Monday while picking up a postal delivery addressed to his store which contained 13,000 steroid tablets.
Customs officers in Reykjavík found the tablets, which were sent from Thailand, during a routine check last Friday. Fréttabladid reports.
Eyjólfur Kristjánsson, representative of the chief of police in Sudurnes, south Iceland, where the store is located, said they had decided to wait to arrest the man until he came to pick up the delivery.
“I don’t recall having confiscated such a high amount of steroids before,” Kristjánsson said. “I find it likely that the tablets were meant for distribution.”
Last year customs officers at Keflavík airport confiscated 700 steroid tablets in total.
