Colonie Police broke up an illegal steroid operation, and the suspected dealer is facing felony drug charges.
Christopher Magnano, 33, of Rensselaer was arrested last week. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
At the time of his arrest, police said Magnano had several thousand vials and pills containing steroids.
Magnano was accused of importing drugs from China and reselling them over the Internet.
The investigation took more than a year, and police said this type of drug activity is fairly common.
"It's been happening for years. This specific seizure as far as the Capital district is concerned, it's the largest seizure of anabolic steroids and human growth hormones," said Jack McQuade, of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.
Police said Magnano was also found with an ounce of cocaine.
He was arraigned and sent to Albany County Correctional Facility.
