MASON CITY, Iowa -- A Mason City man has been sentenced to nearly four years in prison for his role in an illegal anabolic steroids ring.
Joseph Upshaw, 38, pleaded guilty in March to steroid trafficking and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
According to authorities, he helped others smuggle, package and sell illegal anabolic steroids from 2004 to 2006, in a distribution ring that had customers both in and out of Iowa.
Upshaw will be placed on supervised probation after his release from prison.
