Dunn County DA investigating where UW-Stout players got steroids
March 09, 2007
The Dunn County District Attorney says he’s trying to find out where two UW Stout football players got the steroids they’re accused of possessing.
James Peterson, Dunn County District Attoney, says he believes Luke Steffen and Nicholas OrRico obtained their steroids from different sources.
He said Steffen identified his supplier to authorities and that person has been prosecuted on drug offenses in Wisconsin before.
He said he was not sure if the steroids could have been to a nationwide investigation that’s now underway involving a host of Major League Baseball players.
Steffen and OrRico have pleaded innocent to various drug charges after being arrested last fall.
The U.S. Anti-Doping agency says one of the steroids is normally used on horses while another one has been used for treating breast cancer.
