California man charged with distributing steroids

·                                 NEW HAVEN, Conn. --A San Francisco man was indicted by a federal grand jury Wednesday on allegations he sold anabolic steroids over an Internet site to buyers across the country, including Connecticut.

·

Hiroshige Cranney, 24, was charged with one count of distributing anabolic steroids, which carries up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

The indictment by the grand jury in U.S. District Court in New Haven alleges that Cranney sold the steroids on http://www.sell.com. The steroids included dianabol, winstrol, deca-durabolin, anavar, testosterone, anadrol, and turanabol.

"The illegal distribution of anabolic steroids and other pharmaceuticals on the Internet poses a grave and increasing public health risk, and the federal government will vigorously prosecute this offense," U.S. Attorney Kevin O'Connor said.
