Former teacher gets one year for steroids

A former Chippewa Falls teacher has been sentenced for possessing and selling steroids.
61-year-old Greg Nerbovig of Eau Claire pleaded guilty yesterday to manufacturing steroids and possession with intent to deliver steroids.
The former math teacher was sentenced to a year in county jail.
Judge Roderick Cameron says his guilty plea allows him to avoid federal drug charges.
A criminal complaint says drug agents raided Nerbovig's home in July and found more than three kilograms of powdered steroids as well as dozens of loaded syringes and unused syringes.
State drug agents say they had been watching Nerbovig for more than four months and they used an informant to meet Nerbovig at his home to buy steroids.
Nerbovig retired in June after working over 30 years for the Chippewa Falls School District.
