Steroids Linked to Early Deaths

New Swedish research indicates that weight-lifters and wrestlers die before the age of 60 at a greater rate than among the general population.
The reason may be abuse of anabolic steroids.
The study by researchers at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg revealed that between 25 and 30 percent of top athletes active in those sports in the 60’s and 70’s died prematurely. Of those who are still alive, a significant number indicated they had used steroids during their athletic careers.
The primary causes of death were cardiovascular diseases, cancer, suicide, accidents, and liver disease.
