WWE's Dykstra rips magazine's steroid allegations

TORONTO -- Pro wrestler Kenny Dykstra defended World Wrestling Entertainment yesterday in the wake of allegations that 11 current or former WWE wrestlers were involved in a U.S.-wide steroid ring.
Dykstra, who was in Toronto to help promote Wrestlemania, questioned the SI.com report that named WWE stars Randy Orton and Edge among those who allegedly received prescriptions for performance-enhancing drugs between March 2004 and August 2004.
"Okay, you made an accusation, but that doesn't mean it's true," said Dykstra.
Dykstra said other sports belong under the microscope ahead of pro wrestling.
"If people want to look for substances, why don't they just look at bodybuilders?" said Dykstra.
The WWE released a statement saying the allegations occurred well before the company introduced its "Talent Wellness Program."
"They have random testing. If you fail you're gone," said Dykstra.
