AN Australian cyclist said to have dreams of competing in the Olympics and the Tour de France has been convicted and fined $4067 for illegally importing performance enhancing drugs from Indonesia.
Former national team member Andrew Wyper, 21, has been convicted in Sydney’s Downing Centre Court of illegally importing performance enhancing drugs, the Australian Customs Service said.
Customs began an investigation after intercepting a parcel from Indonesia last November containing four vials of anabolic steroids, seven vials of human growth hormone and a syringe of erythropoietin.
