LOS ANGELES (AP) — Dodgers player representative Mark Hendrickson passed out copies of a union memo reminding his teammates to seek legal counsel if approached by investigators looking into steroids in baseball.
Hendrickson passed out the memos Friday.
"It wasn't anything big," Dodgers reliever Rudy Seanez said Saturday. "Just saying, 'Be careful.' They always send things out, even for the littlest things."
Sen. George Mitchell's staff has been investigating steroids in the game for more than a year.
The memo began by mentioning the case of Kirk Radomski, a former New York Mets clubhouse employee who last month pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in San Francisco to felony charges of distributing steroids and laundering money.
"It's clear there are other criminal investigations ongoing," the memo said.
It went on to remind players not to talk with any investigator without getting legal advice.
"It's just something that was sent to me that I needed to relay," Hendrickson said Saturday. "As a union, you try to inform your players about anything and everything that's going on as best you can."
Players from other teams said they had not received a similar memo.
