Since WWE announced his indefinite suspension, speculation on the Internet has focused on the notion that Chris Masters violated the Wellness Policy by testing positive for steroids.

According to the Wrestling-Observer Newsletter, however, he did not fail a steroid test. While he was taken off the road due to a presently unknown drug issue, it apparently was not due to the steroid portion of the new policy.

One anonymous wrestler has, however, gotten heat for steroid use. WWE allows wrestlers to use banned substances (and knows that some wrestlers use Human Growth Hormone, which cannot be detected via tests) if they have valid prescriptions, but this wrestler's prescription was expired at the time of the test.
