Anderson reports to prison for refusing to testify about Bonds
DUBLIN, Calif. Greg Anderson is heading back to prison for refusing to cooperate with a grand jury that is investigating whether Barry Bonds lied when he said he never knowingly used steroids.
Anderson is Bonds' personal trainer and boyhood friend. He reported to the federal correctional institution in Dublin this afternoon, days after an appeals court upheld a contempt of court citation against him.
Anderson already has been behind bars twice before, serving a total of 52 days, for his refusal to tell the grand jury what he knows about Bonds. Both times, the prison stints were cut short because of legal technicalities.
Now, he could serve more than a year behind bars unless he agrees to testify.
