Sciroxx Remailers Plead Guilty to Steroid Distribution
Two men in Rhode Island have pleaded guilty to distributing anabolic steroids on behalf of the international underground steroid organization known as Sciroxx. Edmond Paolucci and Patrick Cunningham admitted to importing and repackaging injectable and oral steroids in order to sell them domestically in the United States.
The two Sciroxx remailers were responsible for receiving bulk shipments of anabolic steroids from Israel, Turkey and Bulgaria. The injectable steroid oils were shipped in giant 650-milliliter “jugs” and repackaged locally into 10-milliliter vials. Similarly, large quantities of steroid pills were imported and repackaged into small individual pouches for consumers in the United States. The retail-size products were then labeled with the Sciroxx (and Xsorox) brands.
The investigation was led by the Rhode Island FDA Task Force,. The task force included agents from the DEA, IRS, USPS, Immigration and Customs, Homeland Security, the Rhode Island State Police, the North Providence Police, the East Providence Police, and the Rhode Island National Guard.
The task force seized steroid paraphernalia, various ancillary drugs and significant quantities of testosterone enanthate, boldenone undecylenate and trenbolone acetate repackaged in 10-milliliter vials.
Paolucci and Cunningham were linked to co-conspirators in Israel after federal authorities obtained money transfer records. They discovered that Paolucci transferred more than $76,000 in proceeds to his partners in Israel between November 2009 and November 2011. Western Union and MoneyGram are the money transfer services most commonly used by steroid sources.

Paolucci was also charged with money laundering based on money transfer records subpoenaed by the government.
Paolucci and Cunningham were originally busted in November 2011. But details of the case, including plea agreements made five months ago, were not made public due to an ongoing investigation into Sciroxx.
The U.S. Government also revealed an interest in the international operations of Sciroxx as they sought out the assistance of their counterparts in the Israeli government.
