Figure Competitor Eve Howe Accepts Punishment While Husband Flees the Country in Steroid Case

Eve Howe Accepts Punishment While Husband Flees the Country | steroid.com

IFBB figure competitor Eve Howe faces the music while her husband Shane Rennard runs away.

Eve Howe, an Australian personal trainer and figure competitor, was sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to the illegal importation and distribution of anabolic steroids on December 6, 2018. Fortunately for Howe, the sentencing judge assigned to her case granted her parole immediately contingent on her ongoing good behavior.

Howe is currently using her maiden name. She was previously known as Eve Rennard following her marriage to Shane Rennard. However, she dropped her husband’s last name after their recent estrangement.

Eve ad Shane Rennard were not only partners in marriage, they were also partners in crime. The couple illegally imported raw anabolic steroid powder from China, converted it to finished oral and injectable steroid products and distributed them.

Howe and Rennard were arrested after Australian Federal Police intercepted a package containing steroids.

Their illicit steroid enterprise came to an end when Australian Federal Police (AFP) intercepted a suspicious package addressed to the Rennard’s residence in Cairns according to Commonwealth prosecutor Christ Moore.

AFP initially suspected that Rennard and Howe were drug dealers selling Ecstasy (MDMA). Instead, investigators found 4,012 steroid pills hidden in a package. The couple unsuccessfully attempted to hide the pills in a container of coffee.

AFP officers arrested Shane Rennard on an inbound flight from Papau New Guinea to Cairns Airport. Police confiscated 780 steroid pills that were found on his person after the flight.

Investigators learned that the Rennard and Howe manufactured the finished steroid products in a clandestine laboratory located in Papua New Guinea. Rennard had been assigned to Papau New Guinea for work.

Prosecutors presented evidence that Rennard and Howe sold oral and injectable steroids to at least three customers between February 2017 and July 2017. Three invoices indicated that the illicit drug products included testosterone, methandienone (Dianabol), Sustanon and human growth hormone (hGH).

Prosecutors also argued that Howe was not merely a passive participant in her husband’s steroid operation in contradiction to her defense attorney’s characterization of her as a “secretary” who merely followed orders. Howe was actively involved in distributing steroids, pricing the products and trying to avoid detection by law enforcement according to Moore.

In addition, both Rennard and Rennard were competitor bodybuilders who used steroids. Rennard had reportedly used steroids for a period of over 20 years.

Howe achieved far more success competing in physique competitions. She most recently won the 2018 Arnold Classic Australia Amateur figure competition during happier times in their relationship.

Once Howe and Rennard were arrested and charged with steroid trafficking, it appeared that their relationship suffered.

Cairns Supreme Court Justice James Henry took note of the fact that the two co-conspirators were no longer in a relationship.

“Your client’s husband isn’t man enough to face the music,” Justice Henry said. “It is plain to see there has been tension with your husband. His gutless performance not showing up presumably is an indication that your relationship is ending or has ended.”

Judge Henry issue an international arrest warrant for the apprehension of Rennard. Rennard remains at large.
