Anytime Fitness Personal Trainer Sold British Knight Steroids to Keep His Clients Happy
James William Blatch sold steroids to his clients because he was scared that they would find another personal trainer if he didn’t.
James William Blatch, a former competitive bodybuilder and personal trainer at the Anytime Fitness Potts Point outside of Sydney (Australia), has been sentenced after pleading guilty to selling anabolic steroids to an undercover police officer in 2015.
Blatch was allowed to stay out of jail after receiving a two-year community corrections order. He was also required to pay a $1000 fine
Judge John Pickering decided against prison for Blatch since the defendant was forced to wait three years before he was granted a sentencing hearing following his guilty plea.
Blatch readily admitted selling steroids. But he claimed he was motivated to do so because he was afraid of losing clients to other personal trainers. Blatch thought he could keep his clients happy if he sold them steroids.
The Anytime Fitness personal trainer was busted after an undercover police officer posed as a client.
The New South Wales Police launched an investigation into steroid trafficking by Blatch in early 2015. An undercover NSW Police officer posed as a member of Anytime Fitness Potts Point and requested a personal training consultation with Blatch.
After becoming one of Blatch’s clients, the police operative arranged the purchase various injectable steroid products manufactured by the Australian domestic underground laboratory “British Knights”. The sales took place on three separate occasions between May 28, 2015 and June 10, 2015.
The products included British Knights Testosterone 200 (testosterone cypionate) and Testosterone 250 (testosterone enanthate). In total, Blatch sold the police operative over $7000 worth of anabolic steroids.
Blatch also made good use of social media to interact with over 22,000 potential customers who followed him. Specifically, Blatch used his “Muscle Makers” Facebook page, Twitter account and YouTube channelÂÂÂ to market and sell steroids.ÂÂÂ
