(Nandrolone Undecanoate)
Dynabolon is a once popular anabolic steroid comprised of the active steroidal hormone Nandrolone attached to the very large Undecanoate ester. Very similar to Nandrolone Decanoate (Deca Durabolin), Dynabolon’s Undecanoate ester is slightly larger providing an even longer lasting therapeutic window. However, while once a popular steroid in therapeutic treatment plans and among performance enhancing athletes, Dynabolon is no longer on the market. In fact, there are no pharmaceutical brands of Nandrolone Undecanoate currently produced, and it is also rare on the black market.
Dynabolon first appeared in the early 1960’s and enjoyed relatively strong success throughout much of Europe. The compound was also sold as Psychobolan in some markets, but Dynabolon remained the dominant brand. This anabolic steroid proved to hold numerous therapeutic benefits and was approved for the use in the treatment of osteoporosis, malnutrition and any general catabolic conditions. However, despite a very decent track record of safety, in the 1990’s Dynabolon and all Nandrolone Undecanoate compounds would slowly disappear from the market.
Dynabolon was also a somewhat popular anabolic steroid among performance enhancing athletes during its more than thirty years of existence. Dynabolon Functions & Traits:
Dynabolon is an anabolic androgenic steroid comprised of the 19-nortestosterone (19-nor) hormone Nandrolone. The 19-nor classification notes a structural change to the testosterone hormone in that it lacks a carbon atom at the 19th position. Dynabolon is also a Nandrolone hormone attached to the very large Undecanoate ester; in fact, it is the Undecanoate ester that defines Dynabolon. The Undecanoate ester is one carbon atom larger than the Decanoate ester, and as a result, provides a longer active Nandrolone window.
As a Nandrolone hormone, Dynabolon carries an anabolic rating of 125 and an androgenic rating of 37. While it’s anabolic rating is only slightly higher than testosterone, its reduced androgenicity is welcomed by many who are sensitive to androgenic side effects. Dynabolon is also a very moderately estrogenic hormone in that it does aromatize. However, its rate of aromatization is only 20% that of testosterone, but it’s also a progestin and this will calculate into its total estrogenic activity.
On a functional basis, Dynabolon is a very basic anabolic steroid. It does not possess traits that we can call unique to this Nandrolone form. While side effects of Dynabolon are possible, most men will find the threshold is very high. In fact, most healthy adult men can supplement with this or any Nandrolone steroid side effect free if they take the proper measures and thoroughly understand the hormone. [1] Estrogenic:
The side effects of Dynabolon can include those of an estrogenic nature due to the hormone aromatizing. Aromatization refers to the conversion of testosterone to estrogen, and as estrogen levels rise this can promote water retention and gynecomastia. As a secondary action, excess water retention can also promote high blood pressure when it becomes severe.
While estrogenic, the Nandrolone hormone is only mildly estrogenic aromatizing at only 20% the rate of testosterone. However, this is enough to promote pronounced estrogenic activity, and it is also a progestin. Progesterone can increase the risk of gynecomastia due to it having the ability to stimulate the estrogenic mechanism in the mammary tissue, especially in sensitive men.
Due to the possible estrogenic side effects of Dynabolon, most men are encouraged to include an anti-estrogen with their Nandrolone use. There are two classes of anti-estrogens, Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERM’s) like Clomiphene Citrate (Clomid) and Aromatase Inhibitors (AI’s) like Letrozole (Femara). SERM’s function by binding to the estrogen receptor, and as a result, prevents the estrogen hormone from binding. AI’s function by inhibiting the aromatase process, and as a result, lower serum estrogen levels. AI’s will be the most effective. Unfortunately, when aromatizing steroids are conjoined with their use, this can have a negative impact on cholesterol. SERM’s are not as effective, but they can be enough for some men. Further, SERM’s will actually have a positive impact on cholesterol due to their estrogenic like action in the liver.
[2] Androgenic:
The possible side effects of Dynabolon can include those of an androgenic nature. However, such effects are highly unlikely in most men as the androgenicity of this steroid is tremendously mild. Such effects are highly dependent on genetic predispositions and include accelerated hair loss in those predisposed to male pattern baldness, acne in sensitive individuals and body hair growth.
Due to the possible yet unlikely androgenic side effects of Dynabolon, some may be tempted to use a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor in order to reduce the hormone’s androgenicity. However, this is not advised. 5-alpha reductase inhibitors like Finasteride are sometimes used to reduce the androgenicity of testosterone due to it being metabolized by the 5-alpha reductase enzyme and thereby reduced to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Nandrolone is also metabolized by the 5-alpha reductase enzyme, but it is reduced to dihydronandrolone (DHN) not DHT and the use of an inhibitor will actually increase the hormone’s androgenicity.
The androgenic side effects of Dynabolon can also include virilization symptoms in women. Such symptoms can include a deepening of the vocal chords, clitoral enlargement and body hair growth. While only mildly androgenic, the translating androgenic activity appears to be higher in women than its structural rating implies. Some women can use this steroid without virilization symptoms if the dose is kept low and use is short-term. However, most women will find faster acting Nandrolone compounds like Nandrolone Phenylpropionate to be far more tolerable and manageable. Further, if virilization symptoms begin to show, the Phenylpropionate version can be discontinued and the symptoms will fade away if use is discontinued at their onset. If symptoms are shown and use is continued with any form, the effects may be irreversible. It will also take a lot of time for Dynabolon to clear the body due to its long acting nature making it a very poor choice in Nandrolone for women. Female use is not advised.
[3] Cardiovascular:
The side effects of Dynabolon can include high blood pressure, but if water retention is controlled and there are no underlying health issues, most men should not have a problem. However, the side effects of Dynabolon can also include improper lipid profiles. Cholesterol can be an issue, and the Nandrolone hormone can have a slightly stronger impact than testosterone. It should not have a strong statistical impact on LDL cholesterol, but it can significantly reduce HDL cholesterol levels. This can in turn skew the total lipid reading as HDL cholesterol is largely responsible for the regulation of LDL cholesterol.
Due to the possible cholesterol issues surrounding Dynabolon, a healthy lifestyle is imperative. If you have healthy cholesterol and live a lifestyle that promotes its continuation, bearing no underlying health issues, lipids should remain stable. In order to achieve this, a healthy cholesterol friendly diet is the first step. Saturated fats and simple sugars should be limited and omega fatty acids should be made an integral part of your diet. Daily fish oil supplementation will prove very useful. The individual should also ensure he implements plenty of cardiovascular activity into his routine.
[4] Testosterone:
The side effects of Dynabolon will include natural testosterone suppression in all men who supplement with the steroid regardless of genetics and total dosing. Not only will suppression occur, it will be significant in all men. For this reason, the use of exogenous testosterone with any Nandrolone compound is imperative. Those who do not include exogenous testosterone, the form of testosterone is inconsequential, will fall into a low testosterone state. Such a condition can be extremely unhealthy and carries with it numerous possible bothersome symptoms.
Once the use of Dynabolon and all anabolic steroids has been discontinued and all the exogenous hormones have cleared the system natural testosterone production will begin again. This is assuming no damage was done to the HPTA due to improper steroid use. It also assumes no prior low testosterone condition existed.
While natural testosterone production will begin again, it will be slow and you will be at risk of a low testosterone condition post steroid use. For this reason, most men are encouraged to implement a Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) plan in order to ensure a smooth recovery. This will stimulate natural testosterone production and protect your health. It will not return your levels to normal on its own, this will still take some time, but it will ensure you have enough testosterone for proper bodily function as your levels continue to naturally rise.
[5]Hepatotoxicity:
Dynabolon is not a hepatotoxic steroid and will not damage or stress the liver.
Dynabolon Administration:
Dynabolon, while no longer available, was an anabolic steroid that was found in ampules that contained 80.5mg of the Nandrolone Undecanoate compound. In therapeutic settings, standard Dynabolon doses were normally 80.5mg every 7-14 days. In more aggressive situations, the total dosing could be increased by three to four times that amount.
For the athlete, two ampules per week in one single dose or two equal doses per week (1 amp tice per week) will provide the therapeutic benefits. This can be a great dose in a well-planned cutting cycle for endurance and recovery purposes. For the purpose of off-season mass gains, most men will find 4-5 ampules per week to not only be very beneficial but also very well-tolerated. Higher doses can be used, some men can tolerate as much as 600mg per week very well. However, such doses will increase the risk of side effects and most men will not need such doses to reach their goals. Regardless of the total dosing, you will find Dynabolon stacks well with all anabolic steroids. However, there is no reason to conjoin it with another Nandrolone hormone. This steroid, due to its very slow acting nature is not suited for short-term use. Use should be at least 10 weeks with 12-16 weeks being optimal.
Availability of Dynabolon:
Dynabolon is no longer available in any market. There is no legitimate pharmaceutical Nandrolone Undecanoate available in any market. However, you may be able to find a few underground labs that still make a Nandrolone Undecanoate compound, but they are not common and their quality is unverifiable.
